The Bodhisatva Sahakari Rugnalaya Maryadit is registered on 29 September 2021 under the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act 1960 with registration no. PNA/JIUNI(Shahar)/GNL/(O)/157/2020-21/San 2021 dated 29 September 2021. The area of operation of the Society will be Pune district initially, to be expanded in all the districts of Maharashtra gradually. Hospital has started its functioning from 15 December 2021, initially with OPD in the premises of Pune International School Vidyanagar Pune. The Bodhistava sahakari Rugnalaya was inaugurated by the Commissioner & Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Maharashtra on 14 October 2021. The Hospital started its services to the public from 1 December 2021.
Health is one among the basic needs of the people, yet not available adequately to the economically weaker section of the society. Further, the country is witnessing unprecedented Pandemic since last two years and still there is threat of recent Omicron variant. Bahujan Samaj is the most sufferer as they are deprived of health services due to weak financial position. During the pandemic situation, some have lost their nears and dears, relatives and friends as health services were not available at affordable cost and inadequacy of beds and treatment.
Realizing the sufferings of the people, concept of health facilities for people in general and weaker sections of the society in particular, have been conceptualized in July 2021. Studying the various alternatives, Hospital under Cooperative principles have been chosen through involving people in ownership, management and use of health services by members and people. Accordingly, a seed of Bodhisatva Sahakari Rugnalaya Maryadit has been sown and germinated a little plant by formation of Sahakari Rugnalaya in September 2021.
The main objectives of the Bodhisatva Sahakari Rugnalaya Maryadit is to set up well equipped Hospital and provide health services to the people at affordable cost, surely less than the market charges for similar health facilities. The vision of Bodhosatva Sahakari Rugnalaya Maryadit is “ Health Services from Cooperation” It is envisaged to have multi-specialty Hospital with Medical College and Nursing and paramedical colleges etc. attached to it through Cooperation concept owned by the members, managed by the members to be used by the members.
The Mission of the Bodhisatva Sahakari Rugnalaya is provide quality health services to vulnerable group at affordable cost and save from the exorbitant cost being charged by the private hospitals.The aim of the Bodhisatva sahkari Rugnalaya Maryadit has been to set up 300 to 400 bed Hospital with attached Medical College and paramedical related courses affiliated to it over a period of ten years. The future path of Bodhosatva Sahakari Rugnalaya Maryadit is to have multi-specialty Hospital with Medical College and Nursing and paramedical colleges etc. attached to it. To start with health services, it is decided to create a chain of OPDs in and around Pune and link them with the Main Hospital in future. This will facilitate to provide health services at affordable cost. This is a challenging task to accomplish soon, but possible.
It is a pleasure to share that in less than 2 months, share capital of Rs. 17.5 million have been mobilized from members and planned to reach to a level of Rs. 50 million by March 2022 through increasing membership and donations from the well-wishers and sympathizers for the social cause. A series of activities like arranging free health camps, opening of first CM OPD in Vidyanagar in Pune have been started with professional Doctors and trained staff.
We whole-heartedly welcome concrete suggestions and monetary assistance from every quarter for the advancement and development of Cooperative Hospital. We assure that we shall strive to carry out the health services and continue our earnest efforts steadfastly to provide more and more services to the people.

II.Concession in Consultation fee for members
At the OPD of the Bodhisatva Sahkari Rugnalaya for general consultation is charged which is very much less than the consultation fees in Market. Medicine /injection is also given to them. Consultation fees for specialised consultation is reduced by 40% compared to market rate. Efforts are to make the health services at affordable cost.
III )Ambulance Service
Ambulance service is available in 24/7 for the patients to be shifted to Hospitals at concessional cost. Ambulance is made available by Panchasheel Medical Foundation Pune, donated by Late Shri. Sharad Ranpise , MLA
IV) Tie-up arrangements with other Hospitals
Till the own hospital is set up, tie up arrangements will be made with the reputed Hospitals in Pune for admission of the members at affordable prices of the services rendered by them. The arrangemnets are being finalised.
V) Tie up with Health Insurance Companies
Tie up arrangements with Government for their schemes to the weaker section of the society will be made. Arrangements will also be made with Health Insurance Companies for cashless facilities to the members and people.This will be started after complying the requirements for such facilities of teh respective agencies/institutions.
